Product Focus: Piri Piri Grilling Dry Spice Blend
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or 8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1.5 tablespoons Saffron & Sands Piri Piri Grilling Dry Spice Blend
- Salt to taste (Piri Piri often has a good salt balance, so add carefully)
- Fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Prepare Chicken: Pat chicken pieces dry with paper towels. For chicken breasts, you can pound them slightly to an even thickness (about 3/4 inch) for more uniform cooking.
Seasoning: In a bowl, toss the chicken with olive oil. Sprinkle the Saffron & Sands Piri Piri blend evenly over all sides of the chicken, rubbing it in thoroughly. If desired, you can let it marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for a more intense flavor.
Preheat Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (400-450°F / 200-230°C).
Grill Chicken: Place the seasoned chicken on the preheated grill grates.
Cook Time: Grill chicken breasts for 5-7 minutes per side, and chicken thighs for 6-8 minutes per side, or until cooked through and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) at the thickest part. Flip once or twice to ensure even cooking and beautiful char marks.
Rest & Serve: Remove chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing or serving. Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley.
Tips for Success
- Don't Rush: Ensure the chicken is fully cooked for safety, but avoid overcooking which can dry it out.
- Flavor Boost: A squeeze of fresh lime or lemon juice after grilling can brighten the Piri Piri flavors even further.
- Piri Piri Wings: This blend is absolutely fantastic on chicken wings! Adjust grilling time accordingly (usually 20-30 minutes total over medium heat, flipping often).
